Herbert Bayer, Bauhaus artist and early pioneer of photomontage, as well as Gaston Bachelard, scientist philosopher and poet, who further defined what is a
Reverie, inspire this body of work.
Open mindedness is the non-judgmental condition necessary for realizing enlightenment. Wonder requires reverie, and reverie requires open mindedness,
which is the suspension of all beliefs. Wonder requires that we put down all of our preconceptions, and forces us to question even our most basic
assumptions about the nature of the universe. Open mindedness is a very rare state in this opaque age of religious fundamentalism.
Often times our society fails to recognize the importance of Wonder, foolishly considering it merely a childish artifact of youth.
Executed digitally, this form of photomontage is perfect for the layered translucent vision that suits my investigation of consciousness.
This exhibit was assembled using found images, objects and original photography, and is printed on archival paper using archival inks.
